Turtles All The Way Down...
I wish I were clever enough to write a song using the concept of “TURTLES ALL THE WAY DOWN” as the metaphor. I might just cheat and give an instrumental song that name.  And just so we are clear, I don’t consider the Every Time I Die song by that name, a proper attempt.

Bob Dylan and The Band - The Basement Tapes
I’m so glad that Bob Dylan sat in a room with The Band and made “The Basement Tapes.” There is never a time when I don’t want to listen to this record. Never. And if you can listen to the opening chords to “Bessie Smith” and not nod your head with a smile on your face, I’m sorry, friend, you and i simply have no more business to discuss.

Out of nowhere, I made up a joke.  “That skank is like a seafood restaurant. You go for some clam, but you might bring home some crabs.” Not sure if it’s worded properly, really. But I thought I’d share.

It REALLY seems like iTunes Home Sharing should be able to transfer media wirelessly, since it can stream. I cannot think of a single reason this technology does not have that function.

Hipstamatic 210 is out! →
Hipstamatic 210 is a pretty big update.  Fullscreen mode, 2 lenses (1 free) and a new film, changed the “Recent Prints” screen quite nicely, removed limitations on “Stacks” and probably a lot more that I have yet to discover in the 20 minutes that I’ve played with it.  So far, I’ve yet to find a lens that works well with the new paid lens (Watts), but...

Atheist at St.Lukes?
While asking questions for the paperwork at St.Lukes Emergency clinic, the question of religion was mandatory. I grinned and proudly announced “Atheist.” The two ladies immediately laughed and had to stop themselves. It was quite obvious they were having trouble keeping composure by the half-smiles they kept exchanging. I’m just happy the irony wasn’t lost on them. :)

Charlotte Gainsbourg's music
I knew Charlotte Gainsbourg as an actress for a while, and even as (the sometimes brilliant, always dirty), Serge Gainsbourg’s daughter. But I only recently found out she was a musician as well!  I heard she was working with BECK, (one of my biggest heros) and was interested in hearing what this was all about.  Her second record, IRM, was written and produced by BECK. Its mood is split...

On FACEBOOK APP for iPhone.
My comment to Ethan on his post about the many ways in which the FaceBook for iPhone app is buggy. “FaceBook is THE buggiest app for iPhone. The coders need to be put through rehab for all the PCP they are clearly lacing their crack with, so when they are beaten senseless for making such a turd of an app, they understand what they did wrong.”

So my diet experiment is (kinda) over. For just shy of 3 weeks I consumed less than 20 carbohydrates a day, putting my body into a state of ketosis. This causes lots of weird metabolic stuff, namely making me switch fuel sources, in a sense. Instead of burning mostly carbs, I’d burn fat. All day.  But this means NO: sugar, bread, grain, fruit, cereal, muffins, classic syrup in my goddamn...
